This position is primarily responsible for assigning daily work and ensuring that time requirements are met using lean processes and on-time delivery. Performing QC on projects before they leave department.
Essential Functions :
Directs the overall shipping activities, significantly improving current operations while effectively introducing new processes and procedures.
Provides effective leadership and guidance that encourages world class operation processes, Continuous Improvement, employee empowerment and lean manufacturing.
Interfaces with Logistics Manager, Shop Foreman, Vice President of Manufacturing, and Compliance Manager to resolve issues and strengthen relationships.
- Implement strategies for cost reduction, process improvement and on-time delivery.
- Maintains preventative maintenance on forklifts and equipment.
- Manage departmental budget.
- Manage day-to-day activities of direct reports.
- Keeping the work area clean and free of debris.
- Keeping the yard free of debris and screws and truck wells cleaned
- Ability to supervise teammates in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Responsible for teammates accurately selecting signage from departments for each day loads.
- Supervise the loading of all trucks.
- Recording weights and dims for all product going out.
- Our goal is 100% defect free and on time delivery of Jobs. Ensure product is handled in a safe manner, maintaining product integrity for customers.
- Must have very strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines. Facilitate communication within the shop leadership team and teammates.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Possess basic mathematical skills : addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all finished goods and equipment.
- Maintain a clean; neat, and orderly work area; ensure all policies and procedures are followed. Ensure teammates follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Thoroughly investigate and report all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner.
- Conduct shift meetings.
- Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as performance reviews and disciplinary measures
Qualifications & Experience : HS Diploma, Associates Degree Preferred 5 to 10 + years supervisory and shipping experience.
This is a Monday through Thursday work week and at times mandatory to work overtime as needed.
Reporting and ending times may vary. Monday to Thursday and possible overtime beginning at 6 : 00 a.m. work until all jobs are selected and loaded on truck for delivery.
Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
