Our team is a diverse and nimble group that manage and maintain Apple's workplaces. We oversee and develop Apple's global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, lead sustainability initiatives, including commute, energy and waste management, to reduce Apple's environmental impact, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all personnel and customers within our facilities around the world. We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated facilities professional to join our team as a Operations Manager in San Diego.
Description
The Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence and leadership to the Facilities team. The role will lead operational strategies, manage day-to-day business functions, and optimize workflows across the organization. They will collaborate with various departments to ensure operational efficiency and continuous improvement. The role will report to the San Diego Site Leader. This position is required to be on-site Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
The Operations & Services Manager will be responsible for the overall facilities across San Diego's campus. Overall responsibility for the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that will assure well-managed and maintained buildings. Work side-by-side with Places partners, such as : Facilities Building Managers, Maintenance team, Services team, Moves / Adds / Changes (MAC) team, Project Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Security, IS&T, People Business Partners and Commute. Manage a team consisting of (1) Facilities Coordinators to ensure timely receipt, dispatch and follow-up on maintenance work orders, and collaborating closely with business partners and vendors; (2) Facilities project manager; and (3) MAC team. Continuously evaluate and identify innovative ways to streamline processes and elevate department brand. Ensure questions, concerns and suggestions are addressed in a timely manner. Familiarization with tools such as Integrated Workplace Management Solutions, service request management, MacOS and iOS productivity tools. Work closely with Facilities team to develop operating and capital budgets, forecast spend and report on accruals as necessary. Develop vendor management program to include expanded vendor network (if necessary), management, and evaluation of services provided.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years experience related to workplace management, facilities services, and customer service. Extensive knowledge and familiarity with Facilities Services, building functions, and Operations priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred Ability to oversee day-to-day operations and team performance and thinks critically and creatively about how to regularly improve process and operations. Comfortable collaborating with all levels of the organization and working cross functionally on a variety of projects. Ability to analyze data and coordinate cross-functionally to promote and maintain a consistent and collaborative workplace. Expertise in verbal and written communication with customers and diverse audiences throughout the organization; Strong organization skills, with familiarity of basic business administration concepts. Skilled in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with the team and customers. Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience in financial management and the ability to develop and maintain a strong vendor network.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,000 and $202,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
