Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg orthopedic unit position in Illinois requiring EPIC and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a hospital Med / Surg orthopedic unit
  • Care for a mixed orthopedic patient population
  • Day shifts from 7AM to 7PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • No on-call responsibilities required
  • EPIC charting system experience is required
  • RN provides care through the full nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and integrating information for the healthcare team
  • Expected to participate in team collaboration, communication, and peer feedback
  • Return time off (RTO) cannot exceed 7 days during a 13-week contract
  • Participation in safety and quality improvement initiatives is required
  • Contingent workers may not be on assignment for more than one year without a six-month break
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this assignment
  • Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment

    • Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license or temporary permit in good standing
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience
  • Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting
  • Experience with EPIC EMR required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required, BSN preferred
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility—locals are not accepted
