Stantec is seeking an individual to provide intermediate-level health and safety consulting services for a variety of clients (including utility, government, oil and gas, and industrial / manufacturing companies) within our Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health and Safety Consulting Services team. This position will support and coordinate the health and safety projects for our clients nationwide. This role will report directly to the US Team Leader of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Industrial Hygiene (IH) Advisory Services.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide health and safety consulting services for a variety of projects and clients
- Assist and support health and safety and industrial hygiene staff and projects internationally
- Assist in the development of health and safety management systems and related programs and procedures, training modules
- Conduct health and safety compliance audits for a variety of clients and work environments
- Assist and support clients in completing their health and safety plans
- Assist and support clients during incident investigations
- Prepare programs, procedures, technical reports, auditing protocols, documentation of audits and management systems, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data
- Complete field work as required, including IH assessments and indoor air quality assessments
- Collect and analyze field data and prepare industrial hygiene monitoring reports
- Assist with project pre-job planning and hazard assessments
- Conduct field assessments, planned job observations, and worksite inspections
- Promote HSSE within the company with a goal of continuous improvement of HSSE culture
- Gain increasing responsibility for project and proposal management through training and will work closely with and support senior health and safety and IH practitioners and project managers
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of and experience with federal and state occupational health and safety regulationsStrong technical and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, coupled with an ability to work in a team atmosphere, and the ability to work to tight deadlinesComputer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of softwareCapable of managing and demonstrating a high level of detail in the scope of work they will be doingStrong leadership skills and the capability to assess priorities and work independentlyAble to travel to and work at client sites for audits, information gathering, and client meetingsAble to travel up to 50% of the time, mainly across the continental US, with potential for overnight stays up to 1 to 3 weeksPossess a valid driver's License and satisfactory driving record (required)Education and Experience
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field10 years of experience in OHS construction and consultingExperience with conducting OHS compliance auditing (preferred)Experience working with field sampling equipment, including associated software (preferred)Certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) or the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC), ora similar designation (required)Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
