Procurement Specialist
The Procurement Specialist is to serve as the primary point of contact between Talos Energy and all approved vendors :
- Develop and negotiate supplier contracts and agreements
- Interview vendors to obtain information concerning product / service, price, availability and delivery data.
- Create a partnership relationship with assigned suppliers with open and frequent communications
- Establish feedback and communications between offshore platforms and Houston operations and vendors to understand needs of the business and relative impact on suppliers
- Assure accurate and timely purchase orders, adjust per needs of the business and deliver clear communications to suppliers
- Update Procurement Manager on supplier performance against specific needs and follow up on expedites and current schedules for positive impact to customer service
- Provide demand forecasting, expediting orders and initiating supplier performance corrective actions
- Review bid proposals from vendors and recommend or enter into contracts within limits of delegated authority
- Discuss defects with quality control / inspection personnel to determine source of defect and initiate corrective action
- Perform other duties as required
Education & Experience :
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a procurement or subcontracts role for an offshore exploration and production company.Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field preferred.Qualifications & Skills :
Strong knowledge of contracts and negotiationsAbility to build good relationships with suppliersProject experience to include interface with controls, engineering, project management and client as well as management of project procurement functions.Proven track record in cost reduction programsClear written and verbal communication and presentation skillsAbility to work in a complex schedule driven work environmentAble to organize and prioritize a diverse and heavy workloadGood oral and written communication skillsRecognize personal strengths and weaknesses and be proactive in self-developmentHave a strong sense of integrity and the ability to deal with ethical situations effectivelyExperience working within SAP is preferred, but not requiredProficient in Microsoft OfficeCertificates & Licenses :
There are no certificates, licenses or registrations required for this positionPhysical Requirements :
Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion.
