Studio Producer – Modern Wisdom
Location : Austin, Texas (On-site)
Type : Full-Time
Experience : 3+ years in a live or studio-based podcast / video production role
Modern Wisdom — one of the world’s leading long-form podcasts exploring human behavior, philosophy, performance, and culture — is hiring a Studio Producer to manage live show capture, studio operations, and technical execution alongside the host.
This is not a clipboard-and-calendar production role.
You’ll be the go-to operator in the room, responsible for getting the best possible picture, sound, and studio vibe every time.
This is your chance to help us to identify and craft key topics, which guests to invite on, and most importantly help shape the direction of the show.
What You’ll Do :
- \tRun the in-room technical setup for every podcast : multi-cam switching, audio levels, lighting, playback, and quality control
- \tManage all studio hardware / software, including mics, interfaces, camera systems, switchers, monitors, recorders, lights, and livestream tools
- \tTroubleshoot real-time issues during recordings (audio glitches, sync problems, camera swaps, etc.)
- \tCollaborate closely with Chris (host) during sessions — anticipate what he needs, flag real-time guest issues, support smooth flow
- \tSupport the host with research and prep for upcoming guests
- \tProvide real-time support during recordings, helping with quick facts, follow-ups, or context mid-conversation
- \tLog timestamps, notes, and clip moments live or immediately post-recording
- \tBack up, transfer, and organize files for post-production team
- \tHelp maintain and upgrade the studio environment — equipment, layout, integrations, vibes
- \tOccasionally assist with on-location or remote tech setups as the show expands
What You Bring :
\t3+ years of studio or livestream production experience (podcast, YouTube, radio, or similar)\tExpert-level understanding of audio and video hardware : XLR mics, multichannel audio interfaces, Blackmagic ATEM switchers, DSLRs / mirrorless cams, lighting rigs, etc.\tStrong proficiency in audio mixing, video switcher ops, live monitoring, and digital backups\tZero ego, high initiative, fast thinker — you get sht done and solve problems before they happen\tComfort in a high-performance environment with notable public figures and complex studio dynamics\tComfortable on camera when needed, without making yourself the show\tBased in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX — this is an in-studio position, not remoteWhat You’ll Get :
