The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. The college benefits pets and their owners, food-producing animals, and wildlife by offering the highest quality hospital and diagnostic laboratory services. • Collecting and exchanging dosimetry badges
• Regular inspection of safety related equipment
• Collection of biowaste
• Assist with day to day activities in the office
• Special projects as assigned

Position Summary :

This position is responsible for providing support to the Safety and Compliance program at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Relevant / Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position :

Preferred experience in a large and small animal care facility.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies :

Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal instruction.

Attention to detail.

Willing to work outside under all types of conditions.

Physical Demands :

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to work independently.

Ability to work around medical waste including blood and biological hazardous waste.
