About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Finance and Administration & CFO to serve as its principal financial strategist. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring fiscal integrity, and aligning financial strategies with the institution's mission. This role requires a seasoned fiscal strategist with a deep understanding of financial modeling, analysis, and capital transactions, and the ability to manage large, complex budgets. The VPFA / CFO will be a critical thought partner to the President, leading the development of long-term financial strategies, and will be expected to engage in meaningful, transparent, and respectful interactions with the campus community.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an MBA highly preferred, and at least 10 years of senior financial experience, particularly in a higher education setting. The role demands a leader who can foster a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and operational excellence, and who is adept at managing competing financial and operational priorities. The VPFA / CFO will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with financial regulations, overseeing the budget process, and ensuring the institution's financial health. Experience with state financial systems, GAAP, GASB, and FASB, as well as proficiency in ERP systems and data visualization tools, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and mentoring financial teams, and a strong commitment to supporting the institution's educational goals and strategic initiatives.
