Responsibilities Position is in a 32-bed Cardiac Renal Stepdown Unit of a hospital High acuity patient population including cardiac, renal, telemetry, and post-ablation cases Typical diagnoses include Afib with RVR, heart blocks, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post heart cath (without intervention), and dialysis patients Patient ratios are 1 : 5-7 on night shift Requires 12-hour night shifts from 6 : 30pm to 7 : 00am Every third weekend out of six weeks and every other holiday is required First to float within skillset to other units; possible float to nearby campuses with 2-hour notice Recent Epic EMR experience required May be expected to precept students and new hires as part of a teaching hospital environment Team-oriented unit with excellent retention and experienced leadership Unit values hard-working, adaptive, and resilient staff with strong social skills Scrubs must be free of other health system and agency logos COVID-19 vaccination is not required but subject to change Up to three unexcused absences may result in termination Requirements Active IN or compact RN license required Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 3 years of recent strong cardiac / telemetry experience At least 2 prior travel assignments required Trauma level II experience required Proficiency with 12-lead EKG interpretation, initiation and titration of cardiac drips, chest tube and drain management, PIV insertion, and care of nephrostomy tubes Must pass tele competency tests and Epic EMR checkoff Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required No local candidates within 40 miles of the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622421.
