Description :
Telecommunications Technician to install, maintain, and repair communication systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of telephony systems, data networks, and cabling infrastructure. This role involves both hands-on fieldwork and technical troubleshooting, ensuring optimal performance of voice and data communications across the organization or client sites.
Job Responsibility :
Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment including voice, data, and video systems.
Run, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling.
Troubleshoot and repair telecommunication issues such as connectivity failures, degraded signal, or hardware malfunctions.
Maintain and update wiring records, diagrams, and system documentation.
Support VoIP systems, PBX installations, and call routing configurations.
Collaborate with network and IT teams to support integrated systems.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
Conduct site surveys to determine optimal equipment placement and cable pathways.
Provide support for system upgrades, migrations, and new installations.
Respond to service tickets and emergency calls in a timely manner.
Requirement :
100% Onsite | will need to work off site in another building on the INTEGRIS campus.
Overtime not available
Cannot work weekends
Job Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in telecommunications installation or service.
Familiarity with structured cabling systems, including Cat5e / 6 / 6a and fiber optics.
Experience with VoIP systems, PBX, SIP, and related technologies.
Proficient with tools such as cable testers, punch-down tools, and fiber splicing kits.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring schematics.
Ability to inventory existing telephone numbers and equipment.
Microsoft Office knowledge.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required) :
BICSI Technician or Installer certification
CompTIA Network+
Cisco Certified Technician (CCT)
OSHA 10 or 30
Physical Demands
Strength : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces.
Standing / Walking :
