Overview

The ACEJMC-accredited School of Journalism and Strategic Media at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for an interactive media full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#144130) at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026. The successful applicant will teach interactive media and other courses in the School of Journalism and Strategic Media. The school requires a record of excellence in teaching, peer-reviewed creative activity (such as juried competitions / shows, app development, etc.) or scholarly research, and service to the school, college, university, and the profession.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will teach interactive media and other courses in the School of Journalism and Strategic Media.

Other responsibilities include contributing to teaching excellence, engaging in peer-reviewed creative activity or scholarly research, and participating in service to the school, college, university, and the profession in accordance with the university and school requirements.

Required Education

• A terminal degree in a communication or media-related field or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
• A master’s degree in a communication or media-related field or a closely related field with four (4) years of full-time communication or media-focused professional work experience by the appointment date will be considered in lieu of a terminal degree.
