Overview

Position Title : Coordinator of Staff and Community Development - New Mexico ALB

Location : Albuquerque, NM

Coordinates and oversees staff development and training activities to support quality service delivery. Expected areas of focus include but are not limited to : orientation and training activities in-person at all NMS locations state-wide and various community locations, cultural competence and diversity, documentation, productivity and efficiency, staff development and skill enhancement activities, and other duties and special projects as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Staff Training & Orientation : Provides in-person support to all NMS locations state-wide overseeing, coordinating, and providing staff development and training activities.
  • Provides orientation and training to all new employees to include, but not limited to, NMS program service array and locations / sites, company and program policies and procedures, program specific operations, resource usage (including equipment, system resources, EHR, etc.).
  • Coordinates training program(s) for existing employees incorporating requirements from regulating entities (such as state / CARF / special contract) as well as identified program / site specific needs.
  • Takes a leadership role in development, and delivery of ongoing staff development and trainings.
  • Takes a leadership role in needs identification and development of staff training tools, workflows, or other aids to support staffs' successful quality service delivery and documentation.
  • Acts as a liaison with community partners to include, but not limited to, providing training and education on behalf of NMS to community partners / affiliates, supporting outreach and recruitment efforts, and identification of external training opportunities, topics, and trainers to benefit NMS staff.
  • Oversees, coordinates, or provides specific regular / required training such as CPI, CPR / First Aid, MH First Aid for both internal (staff) and external (community) populations.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in human service, human resources, or related field preferred OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 3 years' experience in staff development and training.
  • Experience : Dependent on education (see above). Experience in staff development and training preferred.
  • Certification as trainer in CPI, CPR / First Aid, MH First Aid preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Knowledge and Skills :

    Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with a variety of team(s) / groups. Knowledge of behavioral health services. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines. Ability to create / develop and / or procure training content based on a variety of needs / requirements. Conduct interviews and meetings and to manage time and prioritize projects. Good writing and verbal skills.
