Qualifications

• U.S. citizen
• ABA-approved law school graduate and admitted to practice in a U.S. state, commonwealth, territory, or D.C. highest court
• Commissioned before age 40
• Will complete an Air Force medical examination before assignment offer

Service Commitment

Initial active duty commitment : 4 years beginning on OTS departure.

Prior Military Service

Prior active duty, National Guard, or Reserve service is credited for pay and retirement, may advance entry grade.

Application Process

Select boards : February, April, August, November. Submit online by January 10, March 10, July 10, October 10. Schedule a hiring interview with a Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) at any Air Force Base (AFB). The interview must be completed on or before the board first of the month.

Recommendation Letters

Letters should attest to work ethic, duty performance, leadership potential, etc. Address all to "Selection Board Members." Upload letters as part of the online application.
