The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Columbia Business School is seeking a Research Staff Assistant for a one year position. Reporting to Professor Michael Morris, the employee will coordinate support research activities in the Morris lab, which conducts research on cultural psychology :

Responsibilities

Research Support

• Programs and pilot tests web-based surveys.
• Arranges the recruitment of research participants from relevant populations.
• Conducts preliminary analyses of data and writes up summaries of the results.
• Conducts literature reviews and compiles relevant citations.
• Assists with Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, approvals, and renewals
• Helps with writing and editing of proposals and manuscripts

Administrative Support

• Supports the application and administration of research grants
• Schedules lab group meetings and reserves rooms.
• Processes participant payments and reimbursements.
• Helps with outreach to publicize projects and coordinate collaborations.

Training and Coordination

• Coordinates the work of graduate students and research assistants
• Support research activities in the context of undergraduate, MBA, and Executive Education classes.
• Provides general administrative help as needed to move projects forward.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) and some training and experience in behavioral science research.
• Strong managerial and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to program online surveys using Qualtrics.com and to conduct preliminary data analyses using SPSS Statistics tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Facility with online research databases, e.g. Google Scholar.
• Proficiency at editing websites, e.g., Squarespace.com, Wikipedia.com

Ability to recruit participants through online platforms, e.g. Prolific.com and Credamo.com

• Interest and experience in international, cross-cultural research.
