What Were Looking For
Ernst Instruments seeks a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to ensure all customer orders and products, such as gauges and flow indicators, comply with requested specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be adept at conducting inspections, documenting results, and collaborating with Order Entry and Production to resolve any issues.
Pay Rate : from $20 / hour
Work Location : Onsite
Hours : 8 : 15am-5pm
Office Responsibilities :
Proofread and review customer purchase orders that have been entered into the ERP system by the Order Entry team
Verify that all the customers requirements have been met, the order has been entered accurately, the product is suitable, the price is correct, and that the lead time will be acceptable to all parties involved
Identify potential problems before they happen and discuss possible solutions with management
Document order entry errors in the appropriate spreadsheets
Perform a root cause analysis for all mis-shipments and document the results
Use the ERP system to look up inventory, product details, and customer information
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the product line and company
Tactfully communicate via telephone and email with colleagues. This will typically be regarding order details such as price, lead time, shipping, quotation details, and product options.
Production Facility Responsibilities
Prepare documentation for orders, including but not limited to Certificates of Conformance, Mill Test Reports, Hydrostatic Test Reports, and Certificates of Calibration
Inspect completed products to ensure that they match the requirements of the customers order, conform to specifications, Include the documentation, and are packaged properly
Trigger the appropriate corrective action for non-conforming orders
Additional Responsibilities
Fill in for Order Entry positions during vacations, illness, or during other times of need
Complete miscellaneous projects assigned.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum two years relevant work experience
Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English is required.
Strong interpersonal skills with listening, consultative and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in MS Office products, specifically Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint.
Ability to handle complex projects and tasks independently within established standards.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities at a time and be self-motivated and proactive.
Function and thrive in a team environment with an appreciation of aggressive goals.
Type 50 WPM or faster.
Physical and Technical Environment
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office and manufacturing environment.
Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator.
Exposure to varying environments, changing deadlines, strict time constraints.
Minimal lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
This position may require occasional overtime depending on business needs. Candidates should be prepared to work additional hours when necessary.
