Job Summary
The Senior CPS Specialist (evening team) will serve as a senior lead within the Child Protective Services program, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and training to Family Services Specialists and supervising interns on a dynamic team dedicated to protecting our most vulnerable children and families.
This position plays a key role in emergency crisis response and intervention, including investigating serious allegations of abuse or neglect such as sexual abuse, human trafficking, and out-of-family investigations. The Senior Specialist conducts comprehensive safety and risk assessments of children and families by interviewing children, parents / guardians, and collateral contacts. Additionally, the role requires developing and implementing safety and service plans that promote child well-being while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local policies, procedures, and regulations.
Beyond casework, the Senior Specialist will :
This position is ideal for an experienced Child Protective Services professional who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, values trauma-informed and strengths-based practice, and is committed to safeguarding children while supporting families. This role also requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure timely response to after-hours CPS emergencies, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Typical Working hours : 1pm-9 : 30pm. This position is eligible for a $3,000 hiring bonus in accordance with the County's Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.
Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, with major coursework in a Human Services field preferred; AND, three (3) years of directly related experience in a human services area.
