Position Summary :
The Yard Jockey is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers, containers, and equipment within the warehouse yard. This role supports both inbound and outbound operations by ensuring trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading, maintaining yard organization, and communicating with warehouse teams to prioritize trailer movements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Move trailers within the yard using yard trucks or tractors.
- Shuttle tankers, hoppers, and containers between designated areas.
- Transport refrigerated trailers to fueling stations as needed.
- Communicate with Inbound and Outbound Leads to prioritize trailer moves.
- Document and verify trailer movements for operational tracking.
- Perform visual inspections of trailers and report any damage or maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment.
- Assist with loading and unloading tasks when required.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse vehicles as needed.
