• Department Details Highly encouraged to have your RRT at your start date. This position is full time 76 hours a pay period working three 12 hour shifts each week and one 4 hour shift each pay period. Varying shifts that consist of days, evenings, nights and every third weekend. Our department is fast paced, different everyday. We have the only free standing Children's hospital in the state. Once you have seniority there will be less weekends involved. Opportunity to do new things and challenge yourself. Our inpatient RT's will work in a variety of areas including Adult Critical Care, NICU and PICU. RT’s are responsible for vent / BiPAP management, medication delivery, bronchial hygiene, managing RT driven protocols and patient education. Respiratory Therapists must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of equipment utilized in their department. Demonstrates the ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care. Must complete orientations, competency validations, and other in-servicing as required by the department and hospital. Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and / or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
