Machine Learning Engineer / Applied Data Scientist, E-Commerce Risk Control - USDS

Responsibilities

• Invent, implement, and deploy machine learning algorithms to respond to and mitigate business risks in TikTok e-commerce / platforms (e.g., fraudulent merchants, cheating influencers, malicious users, information security issues, cross-domain risks).
• Leverage representation learning, graph models, deep learning, transfer learning, and multi-task learning to improve problem detection efficiency and rapidly block risks while optimizing metrics.
• Monitor key risk metrics, detect changes in risk and business trends, proactively identify potential attacks, and refine risk control strategies and governance.
• Mine and analyze large-scale e-commerce content and user behavior data to build short- and long-term user profiles; improve model precision / recall and robustness, automation, and generalization.
• Advance risk ML capabilities in privacy, interpretability, risk perception, and analysis; innovate models tailored to content e-commerce and build an industry-leading risk control algorithm system.

Job Information

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136,800 – $359,720 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, and location. This role may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and RSUs. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, parental leave, disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, and paid time off. The company may modify benefits at any time.
