Hematology / Oncology Physician Needed in Ft. Smith, Arkansas

Baptist Health Medical Center in Ft. Smith (BHMC-FS) , seeks an additional Hematology / Oncology physician to join a busy, well-established practice. There are (2) two APRNs in the clinic who handle clinic visits and support the physician. There is also (1) one PA who works exclusively in the hospital to assist with consults, rounding, and other supporting tasks.

The Baptist Health Cancer Center is conveniently located next to the 15-bed infusion center, providing easy access for both patients and physicians. It offers in-clinic lab and x-ray. The clinic is currently set up for bone marrow biopsies but can be adapted to add additional procedures. Procedures are physician driven.

Weekday call is 1 : 2. There is no weekend call coverage required and no weekend rounding is necessary. There are very few calls during the week. The EHR is EPIC.

Baptist Health Medical Center-Fort Smith is a 492- bed hospital complete with an Intensive Care Unit, Outpatient Imaging and Surgery Center. It also has one of the busiest ERs in the state. It offers a wide range of specialties including Cardiology, Neuro-Interventional Radiology, Orthopedics, OBGYN and a variety of Robotic Surgeries. The facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and continues to earn recognition for exceptional stroke and heart care by national agencies. Fort Smith is Arkansas' third largest city at over 90,000 people. This location qualifies for a J-1 waiver.
