Job Title : Senior PHP Developer with Application Support Experience

Location : Santa Clara Valley, CA (Hybrid or Onsite Preferred)

Experience : 8+ Years

Employment Type : [Full-time / Contract / W2 / C2C – customize as needed]

Visa : Open to all except new H1B (H1B Transfer Accepted)

Job Summary :

We are looking for a seasoned PHP Developer with over 8 years of experience in web development and application support. This role requires a professional with strong technical acumen in PHP development and hands-on experience in debugging, maintaining, and supporting critical business applications in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure PHP-based web applications.
  • Provide Level 2 / 3 support for business-critical applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Product) for issue resolution and system enhancements.
  • Monitor logs, system health, and performance metrics to proactively address potential issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and create documentation for recurring incidents.
  • Assist in release management, patch updates, and system upgrades.
  • Mentor junior developers and support engineers when necessary.

Required Skills :

  • 8+ years of experience in PHP (Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or Core PHP).
  • Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMS.
  • Proficient in front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services, and system integrations.
  • Experience in application support, production troubleshooting, and incident handling.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, Apache / Nginx servers, and basic shell scripting.
  • Proficient in using tools like JIRA, Git, ServiceNow, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Nice-to-Have :

  • Experience in CI / CD pipelines, Docker, or Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Knowledge of CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, or Magento.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum-based environments.
  • Prior experience in customer support or client-facing roles.

    • Soft Skills :

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to support other teams.
