Medical Assistant / Falcon Health Center / Full Time

In accordance with the mission of Wood Health Company, the Medical Assistant (MA) will provide clinical and administrative support in a medical office setting, under the direction of the physician and office manager / coordinator. The Medical Assistant is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.
Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist physician or provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments.
- Set-up for various procedures and assists the physician or provider in treatments such as surgical procedures, pelvic exams, and other medical modalities.
- Documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
- Correctly collects and accurately labels specimens when doing venipuncture and other specimen collections.
- Gives routine injections under the direction and supervision of a provider, as appropriate with level of training and / or certification.
- Triages patient phone calls, in accordance with office policy.
- Promptly responds to patient phone calls and concerns.
- Telephones / faxes prescriptions under the direction of a physician or provider.
- Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the physician or provider.
- Obtains specimens (i.e. throat, urine, wound, etc) using proper technique and following policy and protocol for labeling.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked patient care area, observing techniques and all other federal mandates, (i.e. OSHA, CLIA).
- May pull charts for current day patients.
- May check or recheck insurance information.
- Accurately files charts.
Minimum Requirements :
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with certification or registry.Current CPR certification.Benefit Summary :
