Montefiore Medical Center is proud to announce the upcoming launch of a new acute inpatient psychiatric facility dedicated to providing high-quality, short-term psychiatric care for children and adolescents. This specialized unit will enhance access to timely, developmentally appropriate mental health services, offering a safe, structured, and compassionate environment to support patients in crisis and help stabilize their condition.

As part of our efforts to build a strong, multidisciplinary team, we are currently seeking a Creative Arts Therapist.

The Creative Arts Therapist will provide individual and group treatment to support patients in their recovery and reintegration into the community. Responsibilities include documenting initial assessments, weekly progress notes, and multidisciplinary treatment plans for assigned patients, ensuring the development of a comprehensive psychotherapeutic plan of care as part of the multidisciplinary treatment program.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group treatment using creative arts therapy techniques in music, art, and dance.
• Perform and document weekly assessments throughout patient\'s stay.
• Participate and present in clinical conferences and all medical center performance improvement activities and practices.
• Recognize, address and utilize therapeutic creative arts interventions to facilitate mastery and coping.
• Demonstrate range of creative arts techniques for support of patient during procedures.
