Senior General Superintendent II Houston, TX

Compensation :  $180,000 $225,000

A nationally recognized Top-10 ENR construction management firm is seeking a  Senior General Superintendent II to lead field operations on a large-scale commercial or industrial construction project. This role will serve as the on-site lead responsible for safety, quality, schedule, and coordination across all trades. The position is based full-time on the job site, offering the opportunity to oversee complex, high-profile builds from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with strong leadership and technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a hands-on approach to managing teams in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all field operations to ensure project safety, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Direct and coordinate trade partners and subcontractors on all aspects of site activity
  • Lead, mentor, and develop on-site project teams, fostering a culture of safety and collaboration
  • Develop and manage construction schedules, logistics plans, and site coordination efforts
  • Conduct daily huddles, site meetings, and safety briefings
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and engineering partners through consistent communication and professionalism
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, and inspection requirements
  • Manage budgets for general conditions and field services, ensuring alignment with overall project goals
  • Participate in business development efforts, project pursuits, and proposal presentations
  • Drive technical training, performance improvement, and workforce development initiatives across project teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 15+ years of construction experience, including large-scale ($50M$100M+) projects in a lead superintendent role
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required; STS-C and First Aid / CPR / AED training preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • In-depth knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, cost control, and labor relations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-standard construction software
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate diverse teams on complex projects
