System Architect in support of USDA- Food Safety & Inspection Services ( Public Health Information System)  Position Summary :

  • The Senior System Architect will support USDA FSIS on the Public Health Information System (PHIS) by providing expert-level system architecture and engineering support.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience and be capable of independently guiding all phases of system development, modernization, and implementation with a focus on cloud migration.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Guide all phases of development, modernization, cloud migration, and implementation, including system design, analysis, architecture, and engineering.
  • Plan and direct the development of major projects and the installation of systems.
  • Perform process analyses to recommend improvements.
  • Conduct system, network, and / or database administration, analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Analyze and document client needs and technical requirements.
  • Provide technical support, including developing solutions and conducting training.
  • Write, modify, and maintain system documentation and specifications.
  • Perform data and technical analysis and information engineering.
  • Participate in meetings and design reviews.
  • Prepare reports on technical analyses, findings, and project progress.
  • May supervise and direct the work of lower-level analysts and engineers.
  • Conduct technical research on emerging technologies to evaluate impacts on system execution and provide alternative solutions.
  • Required Skills & Experience :

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
  • Experience or working knowledge of cloud solutions and platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS .     Powered by JazzHR
