In Walmart's Last-Mile Delivery team, we're building intelligent systems that combine real-time data, AI agents, and scalable platforms to power our delivery infrastructure. Spark Driverour largest last-mile networknow spans all 50 states, reaches over 94% of U.S. households, and plays a pivotal role in Walmart's eCommerce growth by enabling fast, flexible, and cost-effective fulfillment.

Position Summary

We are seeking a visionary Director of Driver Search, Arrival and Matching to lead the development of scalable, AI-powered systems for driver search, arrival and matching automation. You'll oversee a cross-functional team focused on optimizing every step of the Spark delivery funnelfrom offer creation to fulfillmentdirectly impacting speed, cost, and driver experience at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Own the roadmap for core platform capabilitiesdriver search, arrival staggering and driver-trip matching.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of operators, product managers, data scientists, and engineers.
  • Build frameworks that improve delivery speed, acceptance rates, and marketplace efficiency.
  • Leverage real-time signals (driver behavior, location, route density) to inform offer logic and pricing.
  • Collaborate with other leaders in AI, Driver Experience, and Store Operations to drive alignment and execution.
  • Set KPIs and ensure accountability for outcomes that move the needle on cost, speed, and experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience building platforms or systems in technology-driven organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to drive decision-making.
  • Clear, structured communication skillsboth written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders at multiple levels across technical and business functions.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of platform or marketplace leadership in logistics, mobility, or gig economy.
  • Proven experience in personalization, ETA prediction, real-time matching, or search / relevance systems.
  • Hands-on experience in applying ML, reinforcement learning, or agentic AI in production environments.
  • Strategic thinker with strong cross-functional influence across technical and operational orgs.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire and scale high-performing, outcome-driven teams.

    • Minimum Qualifications

    Option 1 : Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 6 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2 : Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 : 8 years' experience in an analytics or related field

    Preferred Qualifications

    Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R, Supervisory experience, Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch), We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
