Position Summary :

(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Civil Site Design Project Manager with a strong background in CAD design and project coordination . This role focuses on managing civil site design projects from early-stage CAD design through permitting and approvals, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate has progressed from CAD Technician to CAD Designer and into a project management role, with experience leading junior CAD staff and supporting licensed engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage civil site design projects with emphasis on CAD design workflow, permitting, and site approvals .
  • Oversee junior CAD staff, providing QA / QC to ensure accuracy and adherence to design standards.
  • Collaborate closely with licensed engineers on daily design tasks, including preliminary layouts, grading, drainage, and infrastructure plans.
  • Ensure due diligence is completed for site approvals, regulatory compliance, and permitting.
  • Develop complete construction plans, coordinating sheets and design details in Civil 3D .
  • Review design work for technical accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support permitting efforts by preparing documentation, coordinating with municipalities, and submitting plans for approval.
  • Attend internal and client meetings to provide project updates and support engineers as needed.

Required Skills & Experience :

  • 10+ years of experience in civil site design , with a career progression from CAD Technician → CAD Designer → CAD / Project Manager.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and other civil design software.
  • Strong understanding of permitting processes, regulatory requirements, and civil site design standards .
  • Experience in QA / QC of CAD drawings and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple design projects independently while supporting engineers.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Civil Site Design experience for Residential, Commercial, and Multi-family Development Projects preferred

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Primarily desk-based work with prolonged periods on a computer.
  • Ability to attend on-site meetings and conduct field visits as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
