Operating Room Tech

The Operating Room Technician assists the surgeon during surgery by handing instruments. The Technician must demonstrate knowledge of procedures, instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the surgical suite. The Technician is alert to proper patient identification, the patient’s immediate condition and reports changes or unusual circumstances to the OR / SPD Coordinator, OR Charge RN, Surgery Supervisor or RN on duty. The Technician also helps post-operatively with cleaning, sterilizing, and restocking.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Expected to work varying hours and to take call.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION :

• Graduate of an approved Operating Room Technician / Surgical Technician course required.
