We’re seeking an experienced Process Control Engineer to manage and optimize high-speed manufacturing control systems in a complex, multi-line operation.

This hands-on leadership role supports the mill’s process automation, reliability, and safety goals—keeping production running efficiently and safely across all systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all activities related to process control system performance, safety, and reliability.
- Manage, design, program, and maintain PLCs, DCS, scanner and camera systems, and related automation.
- Direct and train electrical and instrumentation (E&I) technicians on PLC, drive, and network troubleshooting.
- Ensure system standardization and reliability across production lines.
- Partner with vendors during equipment and software installations.
- Oversee system backups, documentation, and software version control.
- Research and implement new process control technologies.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure rapid response to off-shift maintenance needs.
- Drive continuous improvement and learning culture within the technical team.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; BS or comparable technical degree preferred.7+ years of experience in process control engineering, preferably in high-speed, continuous or batch manufacturing (pulp & paper, steel, chemical, food & beverage, etc.).Strong knowledge of PLCs, drive systems, and industrial networks.Familiarity with NFPA, OSHA, and NEMA electrical safety standards.Proven ability to design and implement consistent industrial control strategies.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communicator and trainer with strong leadership abilities.Additional Information
