Associate Director of Admissions
The Associate Director of Admissions participates in and contributes significantly to the development and implementation of the admissions department's short and long-range strategic plans and goals, infrastructure needs, and processes in conjunction with the Associate & Assistant Deans of Admissions and the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
- Provides leadership, determines departmental procedures, and oversees operations. Hires, supervises, evaluates, and trains the Admissions team, who are responsible for daily scheduled activities, processing of WashU Medicine applications, and scheduling of applicant interviews with the Committee on Admissions.
- Provides ongoing administration and adaptation of Admissions database needs, which include : MSTP, Workday Student, Diversity, PowerFaids Integration, Financial Aid, and Applicant On-Boarding. Primary vendor liaison, ensures development and improvements are completed on schedule and within budget.
- In conjunction with Admissions leadership and in direct collaboration with the Admissions Recruiter, guides and secures resources for the development and implementation of Admissions' strategic plan and recruitment activities.
- Designs, programs, and maintains Admission informatics for use by staff in their daily workflows, and by the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs and the Associate Dean of Admissions for the ongoing assessment of each application season and trending against peer institutions and national AAMC and AMCAS data.
- Develops and implements code to create working datasets for analysis and report findings using statistical analysis software, including generation of tables and graphs, editing and reporting.
- Engineers the links between various data sources within the complex WashU Medicine educational IT environment to create reports for constituents in meaningful, easy-to-interpret formats.
- Serves as an analytical contact for the department. Works with the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs to create methodologies to ensure operational goals and objectives are met.
- Supports annual publications with Associate Dean for Admissions and Director of Admissions and Student Affairs, including Reasons Report and COA Facts Report.
- Assists the Admissions Recruiter's efforts through visits to outside undergraduate institutions, the directing of WashU Medicine's Second Look Weekend, PreHealth Advisors Weekend, and oversight of daily interview day activities and events. Liaison to WashU Medicine Marketing & Communications, oversight of marketing activities including website, social media, video production, and print publications.
- Liaisons for the Committee on Admissions leadership and members. Provides executive functions for the Committee on Admissions, documenting and tracking all actions taken by the Committee.
- Provides back-up to Associate Dean for Admissions, Assistant Dean for Admissions, and Director of Admissions and Student Affairs.
- Liaisons to AAMC, AMCAS and thirteen (13) School Consortium.
- Provides ongoing monitoring of national accreditation and policy changes and their related implementation at WashU Medicine.
- Responsibility for all mass group admission actions and oversight of interview day activity.
- Assists the coordinator of the Student Affairs Business Office with the budget.
- Assists with the organization and maintenance of room 1817 located in the North Building.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
