Grade E1FS Starting Rate $32.89-33.55 / hr. (2025-26, determined by CEA collective bargaining agreement)
Position Definition
Under the general direction of the Director of Facility Services and the Operations Manager, works independently to maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds for Community Unit School District 200. Responsible for being on call per rotation schedule for emergency service. Requires a minimum of 2 years' experience as a professional maintenance technician, a High School diploma or equivalent, and certification or classes in HVAC maintenance, Electrician, Plumber, or Carpenter. EPA certification is preferable. A valid driver's license (not CDL) and proficiency in English are required. Typical hours are 7 AM to 4 PM or 3 PM to 11 : 30 PM. Performance is evaluated annually.
Key Functions
Lawn care, playground safety, snow removal, mulching, asphalt repair, and landscaping.
Repair and preventive maintenance, operation of tools, supporting site safety and events.
Calibrations, repairs, supporting remodeling projects, locating system shut-offs.
Ability to climb, lift heavy materials, operate equipment, read blueprints, follow instructions, and tolerate environmental conditions.
