Position Summary :
This is not your typical maintenance leadership role. As Maintenance Manager at Welch's, you'll step into a highly visible, high-impact position in one of our most strategically important plants—a facility that has recently received significant investments in new lines and state-of-the-art equipment. Your leadership will directly shape the plant's reliability, productivity, and contribution to Welch's long-term strategy.
You will lead a talented team of supervisors, planners, engineers, and technicians, building a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Beyond keeping equipment and facilities running safely and efficiently, you will play a central role in driving strategic capital projects, advancing plant-wide reliability programs, and ensuring that Welch's remains a best-in-class food and beverage manufacturer.
This role reports to the Plant Director and is a core member of the plant leadership team at our 24 / 7 Lawton, MI manufacturing facility—where innovation, collaboration, and purpose converge.
What You'll Do :
- Lead with Impact – Guide, coach, and inspire the maintenance team in a 24 / 7 operation, ensuring reliability, sustainability, and world-class performance.
- Build Talent & Capability – Hire, develop, and grow a skilled maintenance organization, creating a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and technical mastery.
- Drive Reliability & Continuous Improvement – Champion TPM-based methodologies (RCM, FMEA, RCA), leverage CMMS systems, and elevate plant-wide best practices.
- Shape Capital Strategy – Manage capital projects, equipment purchases, vendor partnerships, and facility investments to deliver long-term value.
- Manage Resources Wisely – Own the maintenance budget, optimize parts and inventory systems, and ensure cost-effective, reliable operations.
- Protect & Sustain – Oversee all plant utilities, building systems, and facility infrastructure while ensuring safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- Leverage Data for Excellence – Use plant metrics (e.g., OEE) and reliability data to unlock new efficiencies and performance gains.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Partner with corporate teams, vendors, and government agencies, while influencing supply chain excellence across the business.

Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.8+ years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing (food and beverage highly preferred).Experience with PSM (or willingness to certify within 6 months).Strong background in reliability, capital project management, and utilities systems.Demonstrated expertise in TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement tools.Proven leadership in hiring, performance management, and career development.What You'll Enjoy :

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $140,000 annually for US-based employees. This range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and is Welch's good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
