Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit :
Campus Recreation provides a diverse and intentional recreational program in a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment which enhances the social, mental, and physical well-being of the entire University community. With this mission as the focus, Campus Recreation’s program offerings include intramural sports, aquatics, sport clubs, fitness and wellness, expeditions, challenge course, open recreation, special events, climbing sports, adaptive sports, and well-being outreach.
Position Summary :
This position is a part-time staff position providing service to UNC Campus Recreation. The Athletic Trainer is expected to provide athletic training services for participants in UNC Campus Recreation activities, specifically Sport Club events. This job requires the usual involvement and commitment for athletic trainers. We require that the person in this job be available for weekend, night, and holiday coverage.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the therapeutic specialty area to which assigned. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licensure in speech pathology, audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other fields.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience :
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree with NATA Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer will be bound by the Athletic Trainer Licensure Act (G.S. 90-525, 528).
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
