About AAPM&R : The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) is the national medical specialty organization our membership represents more than 10,000 physicians who are specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). PM&R physicians, also known as physiatrists, treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Position Summary : The Education Manager plays a key role in managing a variety of educational programs, including assessment-based certificate programs, in-person courses, and virtual events. Also supports the Academy's accreditation processes and collaborates with physician volunteers and internal departments to plan and implement educational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the Academy's assessment-based content and programs, which includes, but not limited to, working with volunteers to develop program content, managing in-person meeting logistics and online educational content, and coordinating with other departments to ensure alignment and effective marketing.
- Assist the Director of Education in executing curriculum-based initiatives by overseeing the post-launch management of educational content and related products.
- Serve as the primary staff liaison to the CME Committee and Educational Content Advisory Committee (ECAC).
- Collaborate with the Education and Meeting department team members to support the development and implementation of other educational activities, including the Annual Assembly, STEP Certificate Programs, virtual conferences, subscription products, and other standalone offerings.
- Partner with volunteers and staff to transform educational concepts, identified through member needs assessments, environmental scans, and market research analysis, into tangible educational activities.
- Actively explore and identify educational learning trends, instructional design strategies, and new technologies to improve delivery of educational content.
- Ensure all activities are in accordance with Academy processes and policies, in compliance with ACCME accreditation requirements, and copyright permissions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary Range :
Based on experience and skillsets, the compensation range for the Education Manager position is $ 70,000-$75,000 per year.

Hybrid Work Environment - Must have access to Rosemont, IL office biweekly for 5-6 days per month on average. Travel is approximately 10%, including the Annual Assembly. Periodic Weekend in-person Committee meetings near Rosemont, IL office, should be expected. Potential to participate in some remote evening conference calls / webinars throughout the year.
Required Experience and Skills :
Bachelor's degree required in a related field or combination of equivalent education and experience. Some experience in working with association / member-based organizations.Three plus years of relevant experience in assisting with the development of educational content and delivery.Experience designing enduring and live education, with knowledge of instructional design and technology to enhance and manage educational activities is preferred.Familiarity with ACCME criteria and AMA policies related to continuing medical education requirements is preferred.High comfort level in working with computers software systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
