Position Summary :
The Urgent Care is currently seeking a qualified and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our clinical team. This position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel between our clinic locations across the Greater New Orleans area.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and motivated provider with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, walk-in clinic environment.
Responsibilities :
- Provide direct patient care, including assessments, physical exams, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays, EKGs, and laboratory studies
- Perform common urgent care procedures such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, and wound care
- Prescribe appropriate medications and develop treatment plans consistent with current medical guidelines
- Accurately document all patient encounters and maintain timely electronic medical records
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and clinic teams to ensure continuity of care
- Rotate between multiple clinic locations as assigned
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner programCurrent Louisiana licensure as a PA or NPCertification by NCCPA (for PAs), or certification by ANCC or AANP (for NPs FNP required)A minimum of two (2) years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or primary care (three years preferred)Current BLS / CPR, ACLS, and PALS certificationsCurrent DOT Certification (FMCSA Medical Examiner Certification) is a plusActive DEA registration and state prescriptive authority (or ability to obtain)Proficiency in minor procedures and interpreting diagnostic test resultsExcellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient engagement skillsSpanish language proficiency is a plusAbility and willingness to commute to all The Urgent Care clinic locations as neededPreferred Competencies :
Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and standard billing / coding practicesFamiliarity with EMR systems and digital documentation workflowsStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently and within a collaborative clinical environmentCommitment to professional development and continuous learningAbout The Urgent Care :
