The Patient Care Coordinator / Tech is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate coordination of patient shipments, prescription filling, and shipment processing. This role also maintains communication with patients and couriers, resolves delivery issues, and handles essential inventory and equipment tasks to support pharmacy operations.

Work Performed Duties and Responsibilities

Call and Setup Patient Shipments -Coordinate daily patient shipments to ensure timely delivery.

Fill and Ship Prescriptions -Dispense prescriptions accurately and package them for shipment.

Document Management - Scan faxed documents to patient profiles and organize records.

Shipment Tracking -Monitor shipments and follow up on any issues with couriers or patients.

Inventory Maintenance -Replenish and organize supplies such as gel / ice packs in the fridge and freezer.

Infusion Pump Maintenance - Clean and log infusion pumps upon return, prepare them for re use.

Administrative Support -Fax nursing notes to MDO, order shipping containers, and process credit card payments.

Inventory Input -Log in new infusion pumps and medications received from vendors.

Patient Support

Assemble new patient folders, assist with new patient setups, and process prior authorizations as needed.

• Assist patients with co-pay support and access to foundation funding when available.

Frequency of Key Duties

Daily : Patient shipment calls, prescription filling, documentation scanning, shipment tracking, patient communication, answering phones.

As Needed : Inventory maintenance, infusion pump management, and setting up new patients.

Education and Training Required

Minimum Education : High school diploma / GED

Certification : Certified Pharmacy Technician license (National / State)
