We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen in a fast-paced dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, with a focus on quality food preparation, staff training, and exceptional customer service. This role requires effective leadership skills to manage kitchen staff, ensure food safety standards are met, and maintain inventory control.
- Duties
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
- Train and develop kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food handling, and safety practices.
- Supervise daily kitchen activities and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Implement efficient processes for food production and service in both quick service and fine dining settings.
- Handle cash management and POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS) effectively.
- Conduct interviews and assist in hiring new kitchen staff.
- Create schedules for shift management to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration among staff.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.
- Requirements
- Proven experience in kitchen management or a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation and production.
- Familiarity with various POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS) is preferred.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and staff training.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Background in hospitality management or restaurant management is advantageous.
- Ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining quality standards.
- Experience in casual dining, fine dining, banquet services, or catering is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries professionally.
