Overview

Headquartered in Austin, TX, Atlas currently has over 3,500 employees with offices throughout the US. We are seeking a Construction Materials Testing Project Manager (CMT Project Manager 1) to join our Louisville, Kentucky team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage CMT and Special Inspection projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide assistance to Business Development Staff on project cost estimating during the proposal phase.
  • Oversee the execution of field inspection and testing activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Project Financial Management.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to inspection and testing staff.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and codes to ensure proper execution of tests and inspections.
  • Analyze test results and inspection findings, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients and other contractors; communicate project status, findings, and any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, test results, and documentation; ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and properly archived.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of project activities, including schedules, budgets, and correspondence.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of inspectors, technicians, and support staff; conduct regular team meetings, provide training, and promote safety and quality.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement; ensure all projects adhere to applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, preferably Construction Management focus, OR at least 3 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in project management with strong personal management skills.
  • Safety-focused; additional certifications such as ACI, ICC or AWS are a plus.
  • Technical Requirements

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other commonly used computer programs.
  • Working knowledge of Metafield and Construction scheduling software is desirable.
  • Excellent skills in technical writing and verbal communications.
  • Other Qualities

  • Ability to travel up to 10%, mostly within Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
  • Desire to obtain relevant professional registration or certifications, if not already obtained.
