Research Security Specialist
The GE Aerospace Research Security Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily activities, managing the Visitor Center at GE Aerospace Research in Niskayuna, NY. This role is critical in ensuring exceptional customer service, strict adherence to security protocols, and the safeguarding of sensitive company information. As part of the security team, the Specialist will collaborate closely with colleagues to coordinate visitor processing, photo identification development and programming, and event management.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Daily management of events, visitors and badging operations
- Apply Lean methodologies and maintain key performance indicators with actionable plans to drive continuous improvement and meet operational objectives.
- Develop, revise and audit security policy, standard work, operating procedures associated with visitors, events, company photo identification badges.
- Provide training and development opportunities to improve team efficiency, enhance site-wide understanding of processes and tools, and continuously refine the performance of security personnel.
- Maintain a culture of compliance while creating a professional and welcoming experience for visitors and event participants.
Visitor, Event and Tour Management
Establish and maintain standard work to guide the performance of Visitor Administrator responsibilities.Direct oversite of the visitor registration system coordinating with the GE Aerospace platform leader, providing training to all site personnel, managing system roles and access, providing training & awareness to all site personnelManage the registration and validation processes for site visitors, verifying compliance with security protocols including proper credentialing.Collaborate with site hosts to ensure a streamlined and seamless event experienceCompany Photo Identification Badging
Establish and maintain standard work to guide the performance of Badge Administrator responsibilities.Provide direct oversight of the access control badging system, coordinating with the GE Aerospace platform leader and the Badge Administrator.Oversee the validation of all requirements for the creation and programming of site access control badgesWork with site sponsors to submit badge requests, validate requirements, and facilitate the issuance of access badgesRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 3 years of related experience or an associate degree with 4 years of related experience.Demonstrated experience in managing customer service or security operations, preferably in a corporate environment.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and guide teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing customer service, professionalism, and discretion.Familiarity with security protocols, confidentiality requirements, and best practices.Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, sound judgment and discretion.Requires an on-site presence to fulfill position responsibilities.Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to have the ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.Desired Characteristics
Experience in a security or visitor management role.Knowledge of GE Research Niskayuna operations and policies.Proficiency in using visitor management systems and phone systems.Experience with Lenel OnGuard, RightCrowd, government watchlist screening software, Microsoft Office applications.Key Competencies :

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on November 30th, 2025.
