Position Summary :
The Senior Director of Communications is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing strategic marketing and communication initiatives that support Beacon’s One Beacon strategy, workforce engagement, and business growth objectives. This role ensures consistent brand messaging, compliance with regulatory requirements (TJC, LARA, HCBS, CMH), and effective communication across internal and external stakeholders, including employees, individuals served and guardians, payors and referral sources, and investors. The senior director is a key leader in driving organizational alignment, change management communication, and marketing performance in partnership with the EVP of Workforce Performance.
Primary Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership
Lead the development and execution of the organization’s marketing and internal communication strategies to align with Beacon’s mission, vision, and VCP objectives.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the EVP of Workforce Performance on communication, branding, and workforce engagement initiatives.
Establish KPIs and performance metrics to measure marketing effectiveness, employee engagement, and message reach.
Partner with executive leadership to ensure marketing initiatives are planned, organized, and measurable.
Marketing & Brand Management
Oversee all aspects of external marketing, including campaigns, digital platforms, social media, referral source outreach, and brand management.
Develop targeted marketing strategies to engage Beacon’s four key customer groups : employees, individuals served & guardians, payors & referral sources, and investors.
Ensure marketing content and materials are compliant with regulatory standards (TJC, LARA, HCBS, CARF, CMH).
Lead strategies that enhance admissions, and business development efforts.
Oversee the design, ordering, and distribution of branded materials (SWAG) to support company initiatives and recognition programs.
Maintain and manage the company’s branded online store, ensuring product availability, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
Internal Communications
Design and implement internal communication frameworks that foster workforce engagement, cultural alignment, and change management adoption.
Oversee communication channels including newsletters, intranet, leadership announcements, and recognition programs.
Partner with HR, Training, and Operations leaders to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Measure communication effectiveness through surveys, engagement analytics, and feedback loops.
Leadership & Team Management
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing and communications team.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, Admissions, and Business Development to align messaging and priorities.
Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships related to marketing and communication efforts.
Education and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
7–10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, with leadership responsibility.
Strong background in internal communications, brand strategy, and change management.
Proven ability to establish and track KPIs, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Experience working in healthcare, behavioral health, or regulated industries preferred.
Exceptional writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable results.
Must pass criminal background check.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within BSLS programs.
Ability to use office equipment, including BSLS information technology systems.
Work Environment :
Most of your job duties will be performed from an office.
Travel :
Some travel is required for this position, up to 20%.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
