• Job Description :
• Provide both weekday and weekend coverage in skilled nursing units.
• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and State laws / practice act.
• Document patient care in accordance with standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and implement patient care plans based on the individualized needs of patients, as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units / departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
• Utilize critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, appropriately escalating issues to the appropriate chain of command.
• Provide holiday coverage as required.
