Job Description

Gifted Potential is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Community Participation Support (CPS) services in Secane, PA . This role focuses on helping an adult with developmental disabilities engage meaningfully in their community while promoting independence, inclusion, and overall quality of life. The ideal candidate will be dependable, patient, and committed to empowering individuals to achieve personal and community-based goals.

Schedule :

Services are delivered Monday through Friday between 10 : 00 AM and 4 : 00 PM
DSPs will complete 4–5 hours per day within this timeframe (flexible scheduling)
Weekend hours optional if weekly hours are not completed

Key Responsibilities :

Provide individualized support in community settings such as volunteering, recreation, fitness, or social activities.

Encourage social engagement, independence, and self-advocacy during community outings.

Ensure safety, dignity, and respect are maintained at all times.

Utilize trauma-informed and person-centered approaches in all interactions.

Accurately document services provided, progress toward outcomes, and observations.

Communicate regularly with supervisors, family members, and team members to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements :

Availability for approximately 20–25 hours per week .

Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required for transportation during community activities.

Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to redirect and motivate when needed.

Knowledge of HCBS standards , person-centered supports , and HIPAA compliance .
