Shift : 4 x 10s, 40 hours / week (AM On-Call Required 1–2 days / week, ~every 5th weekend)

Care Setting : Acute Care – Operating Room

HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced travel OR RN for a busy surgical team in Willimantic, CT . This assignment requires flexibility, surgical proficiency, and familiarity with EPIC / Optime.

Position Overview :

Provide perioperative nursing care across General, GYN, Orthopedic (including MAKO Total Joints, Ortho Spine), Urology, and Endo surgeries

Pre-op, intra-op, and post-op patient care according to physician orders and hospital protocols

Utilize EPIC / Optime for scheduling, documentation, and patient management

Participate in AM on-call coverage 1–2 days per week, including approximately every 5th weekend

Minimal orientation required; must be able to function independently

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare patients, rooms, and instruments for surgical procedures

Assist with operative procedures and manage surgical equipment

Provide patient and family education pre- and post-operatively

Maintain sterile technique and ensure safety protocols are followed

Collaborate with surgical team, anesthesia, and ancillary staff

If low census occurs, travel to other facilities  for other medical-surgical needs with advance notice

Requirements : Required :

OR nursing experience in General, GYN, Orthopedic, Urology, or Endo procedures

Experience with MAKO Total Joints and Ortho Spine preferred

Proficiency in EPIC / Optime

Current RN License (CT or compact license)

BLS

Preferred :

Previous travel nursing experience

Flexibility to float to other facilities as needed

Scheduling Notes :

4 x 10-hour shifts, 40 hours / week

On-call coverage AM, 1–2 days / week, approximately every 5th weekend

Flexibility for 8–10 hour day shifts as assigned
