DESCRIPTION

The Staff 2 Pharmacist will be responsible for providing direct patient care to patients in various specialty populations at UCSD Health. The pharmacist will conduct virtual and / or in-person visits with patients with chronic inflammatory disorders and other unique specialty conditions, focusing on those patients on high-cost, high-risk specialty medications. The pharmacist will work under Collaborative Practice Agreements to provide patient education and counseling, optimize therapeutic outcomes, and address medication access issues, in collaboration with the Specialty Medication Management (SMM) staff and interdisciplinary teams. The pharmacist will be responsible for maintaining a standardized medication use process and working closely with the UCSD Health Specialty Pharmacy and other pharmacies to ensure timely access to medications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH).
  • Post graduate year 1 (PGY1) or equivalent clinical experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post graduate year 2 [PGY2] in area of specialty practice or equivalent experience in specialty area.
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy and / or Board Certification in Specialty Practice.
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system Experience in pharmacotherapeutic management, education and counseling of patients in desired specialty areas.

    Annual Full Pay Range : $188,609 - $212,350 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

    Hourly Equivalent : $90.33 - $101.70

    Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
