Cost Accounting Manager - Oklahoma City, OK

Job Overview

The Cost Accounting Manager is a key finance leader at our Oklahoma City facility, a brownfield manufacturing plant that continues to scale rapidly. With multiple distinct product lines under one roof and several large capital projects in motion, this is a dynamic environment that demands hands-on involvement, strategic insight, and operational partnership. This role is responsible for all aspects of cost accounting and plant financial support, including the development and maintenance of standard costs, month-end close, variance analysis, and execution of the annual cost roll. The Cost Accounting Manager will work closely with operations, engineering, and corporate finance to drive financial transparency, support strategic decision-making, and strengthen internal controls.

A Day In The Life

• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of standard costs, including BOMs, routings, labor, and overhead rates across diverse manufacturing processes.
• Lead the planning and execution of the annual standard cost roll in SAP, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational changes.
• Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, inventory valuation, cost variance analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Partner with operations to classify and analyze production costs, identify cost drivers, andsupport continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and address root causes of process or control failures, implementing correctiveactions to enhance financial accuracy, compliance, and operational discipline.
• Provide financial guidance and support for major capital projects (AFEs), including tracking,reporting, and post-investment reviews.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and quarterly pro formareporting for plant operations.
• Lead and execute the annual physical inventory and manage the ongoing cycle counting program.
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies, US GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements,while identifying opportunities to strengthen financial processes.
• Present financial insights and operational performance analysis to plant leadership andcorporate stakeholders.
