Job Description / Responsibilities
The Logistics Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle, performance, utilization and renewal strategy of all Logistics assets within the Sazerac company. The scope includes Trucks, Trailers, Forklifts, Vans and Busses, Pickup trucks, Cars, Railcars, Mill fleet, Heavy equipment, Golf carts and Light assets such as brushing, sweeping and cleaning machines. This role ensures the assets operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards while maximizing return on investment through strategic planning, data analysis, and cost control.
- Manages the Logistics assets and equipment owned, rented or leased by Sazerac. Accountable for building and implementing a renewals strategy, as well as building and keeping current the assets inventory.
- Analyze financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to all levels of organization and leadership for decision-making purposes. Collaborate with site and operation leaders, Responsible for building Capex and Leasing proposals and Business cases. Manage the acquisition, rent, lease, and disposal of all assets.
- Ensure accurate and timely inventory counts by overseeing all fleet and logistics assets, including vehicles, equipment, and related materials. Maintain real-time inventory records through routine audits and reconciliation processes. Collaborate with procurement, maintenance, and operations teams to track asset movement and usage. Identify discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and support data-driven decision-making to optimize asset availability, reduce loss, and ensure operational readiness. Maintain accurate records of asset status, and compliance with federal and local regulations.
- Monitor and analyze assets performance metrics (e.g., fuel efficiency, utilization, downtime, repair costs) to inform decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop Logistic KPIs across the company and drive adoption of the KPIs to measure and manage our business.
- Develop specific cost saving projects to reduce costs each year. Maintain and report out on cost specific KPI's. Facilitate the development of an ongoing productivity pipeline for asset management.
- Work to identify skill development needs; create and execute plan for improving at least one skill set each year. Ensure direct reports are receiving constructive feedback on their performance and have development plans to improve.
