Gardner Health Services is currently recruiting to fill a Counselor II position. This is a full-time position in the Proyecto Primavera Program in the Behavioral Health Department located at 1887 Monterey Rd. Suite 205, San Jose, CA 95112. Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor of the Outpatient Program, the Counselor is responsible for counseling and educating participants and their families on an outpatient basis. The Counselor may perform some, all or a combination of the job duties outlined on the attached job description. The Proyecto Primavera Program focuses on substance abuse treatment for adults seeking assistance with drug and alcohol use. The selected candidate must be certified as a Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) . The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and strong empathic approach to helping others. This position will require flexibility with work hours and scheduling to allow for the greatest service delivery to families.

Minimum Qualifications :

The minimum qualifications of these positions are listed below. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Counselor :

• H.S. Diploma / G.E.D and possess CADC.
• CADC / LAADC Certificate with 1+ years of experience preferred.
• Familiar with a sensitive to diverse cultural and economic needs, especially for clients of Hispanic or diverse background.
• Familiar with the parole, probation or justice system requirements to relating to substance abuse.
• Transportation and valid CA Driver’s License, proof of insurance.
• Must be bilingual (Spanish and English) Proficient in writing and reading both English and Spanish

Compensation :

Compensation and level of position placement will be determined based on relevant experience and education.

Counselor II - $62,081.46 - $71,969.43 / annually
