Discipline Description

Independent Evaluation Board (IEB) personnel assess and make recommendations regarding the suitability, condition, and utilization of facilities within the organization. IEB members evaluate factors such as safety, compliance, and efficiency to guide decisions on facility upgrades, maintenance, demolition or relocation.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include :

Perform Integrated Safety Management Evaluations of Functional Area 2 (Construction) and Functional Area 10 (Maintenance) as part of the SRNS Independent Evaluation Board team field activities. Perform document and field spot checks periodically in addition to the scheduled evaluations. Write reports and observations, provide mentoring to the SRNS tenants to enhance continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, engineering or mathematics field plus at least ten years of experience (YOE), OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least eight years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE)

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and / or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
