Job Description

As a Security Guard - Retail Unarmed Patrols in Santa Clara, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a bustling retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible and approachable. Your presence will contribute to a welcoming environment for visitors and tenants, as you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and providing directions or information as needed.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required, following established protocols.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs as directed by Allied Universal and site management.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Access control and / or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
