American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN with strong ventilator skills and a MO or compact RN license for a night shift position.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a tertiary care hospitalProvides care for pulmonary stepdown, intermediate care, ventilated trach patients, COPD, and high acuity pulmonary casesNurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 4, but may flex to 1 : 6 on occasionNight shift schedule : 3x12 hour shifts (18 : 45–7 : 15)Required to work 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period, with a combination of Friday, Saturday, and SundayFloating between departments, units, and facilities within scope may be requiredEpic EMR is used and experience is preferredResponsibilities include cardiac telemetry, management of dysrhythmias, feeding tube care, central line management, and respiratory therapy for high acuity patientsSpecialized skills utilized : endobronchial valve management, blood product administration, care for trach and ventilated patients, respiratory interventions (CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, chest tubes), and stroke or traumatic brain injury careMust observe isolation precautions and handle emergency response situationsPre-start modules and compliance training required prior to orientationOrientation includes limited module hours integrated into trainingNavy scrubs are required for this positionOnly individual travelers accepted; no travel partners allowedMaximum of 7 days approved for requested time off\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent PCU or specialty experience, with at least 1 year within the past 12 months and no gaps over 90 daysMust have strong ventilator care experienceCertifications required : BLS and NIHSSExperience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, emergency response, hemodialysis management, ventilators, and associated proceduresMust reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not acceptedCompletion of 2 professional references within the last 12 months, one from a supervisor or higher and one from a charge RNSuccessful completion of required drug screeningNo pending license accepted\n Benefits\n
